Hope Takes Root:

The First Journey of Generosity in Sudan

After months of prayer, preparation, and waiting for the right opportunity, a significant milestone has been reached: the first Journey of Generosity (JOG) has taken place in Port Sudan.

For many years, Sudan remained one of the few unreached countries in the MENA region due to ongoing conflict and political instability. Yet God continued to open doors in His perfect timing. Through three JOG events hosted in partnership with the Sudanese Episcopal Church (الكنيسة الأسقفية السودانية), Christ Cathedral (كاتدرائية المسيح), and the Episcopal Church School (مدرسة الكنيسة الأسقفية), more than 100 participants gathered to explore God’s vision for generosity and its power to transform individuals, churches, and communities.

What once seemed out of reach has now become the beginning of a new chapter. Seeds of generosity have been planted, meaningful relationships have been formed, and plans are already underway to establish a local Catalyst and continue multiplying JOGs across Sudan.

This milestone is especially significant for our region. With Sudan now reached, 18 of the 20 countries across the MENA region have now experienced a Journey of Generosity, leaving only two countries yet to be reached. It is a powerful reminder that faithful prayer, perseverance, and partnership can open doors that once appeared closed.

As we celebrate this answered prayer, we also look ahead with hope. Please continue praying for the emerging generosity movement in Sudan—that God would strengthen local leaders, multiply Journey of Generosity gatherings, and use this first step to bring lasting transformation to churches and communities across the nation.

Story of transformation

Walking the Path of Generosity
With "Ana Huwa" Team in Cairo

Through “Ana Huwa” Team, we learned about generosity, giving, and God’s abundant blessings. We were especially inspired by the message of sowing and reaping, discovering how even a handful of rice, when shared by many, can help meet the needs of those facing hardship.

As a small group, God led us on a journey of generosity. We visited nursing homes, hospitals, an orphanage, and people battling cancer, experiencing the joy of giving and seeing how much love, care, and companionship mean to those who are often forgotten.

In 2025, 100+ leaders were trained. By early 2026, this had grown to over 130 entrepreneurs and multiplying community leaders. They  impacted more than 300 people through training, practical support, and community outreach.

This journey reminded us that we are “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works” (Ephesians 2:10), and that “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

Throughout these outreach trips, God faithfully provided for every need, reminding us of Jesus’ promise: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Luke 6:38).

What Is a JOG?

A Journey of Generosity (JOG) is a free, peer-led small group conversation about living generously. There are no asks – just space to explore, reflect, and take your next step toward joyful giving.

Who Is Generosity Path?
